Matt Nicolle wins in Estonia
With his second win in a row, the English hitter continues on the top of the LDET ranking.
May 20th 2017, TALLINN.- The English player, Matt Nicolle, won the second tournament of the Long Drivers European Tour season after winning the final of the Estonia LDET Championship against Brad Pearmain (ENG) in two sets with two shots of 383 and 359 yards. The tournament was held for a second time at the Estonian Golf & Country Club.
With the second win in a row, Nicolle continues leading the LDET ranking with 2.000 points. Pitkänen climbs to the second position and Frederik Frost in the 3rd position.
The hitters enjoyed a perfect hot weather during all the day. The tee box and the grid were spectacular at the hole number 5 of the Stone course. In the morning, there were four qualifying groups with no surprises so the most experience players went ahead to the Match Plays. The longest ball of the day, sponsored by Krank Golf, was of 404 yards reached by the Finnish Teemu Pitkänen (eliminated in Semifinals by Brad Pearmain). The best players of each group were: Tanguy Marionex (#1, 383y), Warren Tood (#2, 369y), Frederik Frost (#3, 376y) and James Tait (#4, 375y).
Nicolle took his second victory of the LDET season after his win in Denmark and made a good championship with regular hits and two big bombs during the day (398 & 384). He won clearly in two sets (383, 359y) against Brad Pearmain (OB, 379) who did very well during all day. Nicolle had to beat Marko Mustonen (FIN), Tanguy Marione (BEL) and Aleksi Kivini (FIN) to qualify for the final. Meanwhile, Pearmain got another final after defeated Christo Pretorius (SAF), Warren Tood (ENG) and Teemu Pitkänen (FIN). Both offered a great show to the Estonian audience.
