Joe Miller: New European LD Champion

This week saw those guys that hit the ball a little bit farther than we do gather in Sweden to compete in the next event on the Long Drivers European Tour. A decent field assembled, with some of the best European long drive players like John McSloy, Dan Konyk, Andreas Persson, Jorgen Trank, Marc Autret, Johan Tumba…. taking part as well as former World Long Drive Champ Joe Miller!

It looked like it could have been an all English final with Konyk and Miller both getting to the Semi-finals but Dan could not quite get past the Swedish sensation David Kvist and so that left it to Mr Miller to wrap things up in the final, with a hit of 330m!

In the senior category the LDET French Eric Houballah was crown European Senior Champion aftern beats the Swedish LDET Player Tony Nilsoon.

And Joakim Boltenstern won the title in the Super Senior category against the English Ivan Sanders

All in all a great championship and the next stop is the Czech Republic next weekend at the Prosper Golf Resort in Celadna, the 5/6th July.

Will it be another victory lap for Mr Miller?.... Let´s see and wait!

Charles Durnian smashes his way to victory

NW Protour LDET Indoor Series

Charles Durnian was a big hit in the North West Pro Tour’s long driving showdown at Euxton Park last night.

The 22-year-old son of European Tour legend and Chorley resident Denis, crunched a shot 405 yards in the four-man final

But that distance was dwarfed in the qualifying round by Glasgow’s LDET Player John McSloy whose attempt soared a mind-boggling 444 yards!

Durnian’s best effort at that stage was a mere 397 yards until he found the extra distance when it mattered.
